Critical Access Hospital (CAHs) are not paid by Medicare based on CPT codes with a very few specific exceptions. Other payers do use these codes in their adjudication of claims. Looking into our future, it is likely that CAH may revert to Medicare PPS sooner rather than later. Critical in this instance is coding risk areas faced by CAHs. This session is the second in a two-part segment prepared especially for CAHs.
